INCOMING: Ässät–Lukko – The Satakunta Derby

Opening at the Satakunta Museum in October 2027, Ässät–Lukko – The Satakunta Derby tells the story of Finland’s fiercest local rivalry. The exhibition explores the decades-long rivalry between Porin Ässät and Rauman Lukko as a phenomenon that has sparked strong emotions, fostered a sense of community, and played a part in shaping the identity of Satakunta. At the same time, it celebrates the 60-year history of Porin Ässät.

The exhibition offers perspectives on the history, significance, and culture of the derby. It also examines how the rivalry continues to live on and influence contemporary Satakunta. Structured like an ice hockey game, the exhibition unfolds through a series of periods, each exploring different phases, phenomena, and stories from the history of the derby. But in the end, who comes out on top: Ässät or Lukko?

The exhibition is produced in cooperation with Porin Ässät, Rauman Lukko, and the regional newspaper Satakunnan Kansa Länsi-Suomi.
