Satakunta Museum Seeks Fans’ Derby Memories and Treasures

Satakunta Museum is preparing the exhibition Ässät–Lukko: The Satakunta Derby, which will open in October 2027, and is now inviting fans to contribute their own memories, stories and objects to the exhibition.

What is the most memorable derby match you have experienced? What goal stands out most in your memory, who is your favourite player, or what has been the most exciting moment? And when have the joy of victory or the sting of defeat left a lasting impression on you? The museum wants to preserve fans’ experiences, because they are what make the Satakunta derby such a unique phenomenon.

In addition to stories, we are looking for objects related to the derby, Ässät and Lukko. These might include fan merchandise, banners, scarves, photographs, jerseys, souvenirs, handmade fan items, or any other objects with personal significance related to the history of the derby.

Preparations for the exhibition are already well underway. With the help of Ässät and Lukko, an interesting collection of material has been assembled, and objects have also been found in the collections of other museums and collectors. Former players have also contributed remarkable derby-related treasures that are rarely seen by the public. Now, the museum also wants to discover the stories and memorabilia of the fans.

If you have an object that you might be willing to lend to the exhibition, please tell us about it in the survey by Satakunnan Kansa Länsi-Suomi and leave your contact details. Perhaps your Ässät or Lukko treasure will become part of this unique exhibition!
