Parvi – A Space for Your Own Exhibitions

Porilaista protoqueer-elämää sodan varjossa – Nike Sandelin 1903–1940, opening event, November 2024.

What is Parvi?

arvi is the temporary exhibition space of the Satakunta Museum. It is located on the museum’s top floor, alongside the permanent exhibition Signs of Life.

Parvi is a versatile exhibition platform that enables new forms of collaboration with different communities and provides opportunities to explore current themes and phenomena. Organisations and communities from across the Satakunta region can create exhibitions showcasing their own cultural heritage.

From Idea to Exhibition

If your organisation or community has an exhibition idea you would like to present at the Satakunta Museum, we encourage you to get in touch. The museum’s exhibition team reviews all proposals and selects the most suitable exhibitions for Parvi. The aim is to present three exhibitions each year created by partners outside the museum.

Exhibition by the Satakunnan sairaanhoitajat ry, spring 2025.

How to Create an Exhibition in Parvi

Parvi is designed to make it as easy as possible for external partners to create exhibitions independently. The Satakunta Museum has prepared practical guidelines to support the exhibition process. These guidelines and further information are available on request from the museum’s Curator of Exhibitions.
