Englund
9.5.2024–23.2.2025, Satakunta Museum
John Englund (1870–1929) was a Stockholm-born photographer, who founded a photography studio in Pori in 1894 with his wife Mandi. During over three decades the Englund atelier produced tens of thousands of photographs.
The Englund photography exhibition explores the unique photographs by the John Englund studio as well as the Englund family story. The photographs of the exhibition are based on the vast digitisation project of Englund’s photographic glass plates, carried out by the Satakunta Museum over the past few years. In addition to classic Englund shots we present unforeseen views of Pori as it was over a century ago.
