Cultural Heritage of Satakunta

The cultural heritage of Satakunta is cherished and highlighted in many different ways throughout the region. Local culture is maintained in municipalities and villages through the efforts of local governments, associations, and private individuals. Both tangible and intangible cultural heritage is preserved in numerous local museums, archives, and private collections.

The Satakunta Museum strives to promote the preservation of the region’s cultural heritage by collaborating with these actors. The museum provides expert assistance to local museums in its area and ensures their mutual cooperation.

The Satakunta Museum maintains a cooperation network between museums, in which the responsibility for the region’s cultural heritage is shared collectively. In addition, the museum provides museum services to municipalities within the region.
