Built Cultural Heritage and Restoration

As a regional responsibility museum, the Satakunta Museum handles expert and official duties related to the built cultural heritage in its area. The museum serves as an authority in building preservation within its region and issuing statements on land use plans and participating in negotiations between authorities.

 
You can contact the Satakunta Museum for matters related to the restore and protection of buildings, as well as for questions related to their history. A building researcher can also conduct site visits when necessary to assess the cultural-historical value of a building or environment, determine the need for protection, and help define the principles for repairing or modifying such a site.

For practical renovation issues, renovation expert, curator and the museum’s renovation center, the Building Preservation Centre Toivo, provide guidance.
